What the hell is life coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between a coach and client in a creative, thought-provoking process that inspires clients to maximize their personal and professional potential. Clients come with their own agenda and work toward taking action that supports their values, dreams, and creation of their most fulfilling life.
What brings someone to life coaching?
A desire to...
What does a life coach do?
Guides you - Helps you to clarify goals & visions of fulfillment, develop productive & useful mindsets (perspectives), and absorb the processes of your life so they become assets as you move forward.
Expects your best - By seeking a coach you are making a statement that you are ready to achieve a higher level of personal and/or professional excellence.
Asks powerful questions - By asking deep rooted questions that require self exploration, you are asked to take the time to answer honestly, which acts as a catalyst to the coaching, and ultimately to the results you want.
Gives honest feedback - In any successful relationship, honesty is paramount. I will never ignore any intuitive feelings I have about our coaching. “Holding back”, as either coach or client does not serve you, the client, or the coaching relationship.
Challenges you - When we notice something is amiss, we will challenge you on it. Many times it is these instances that provoke opportunities for significant learning and growth.
Helps you move into action - We make requests of you based on the goals we have helped you to establish and hold you accountable to those actions.
Is life coaching right for you?
To find out if you are ready for life coaching, ask yourself the following questions:
Can I commit to improving the quality of my life?
Am I willing to be honest with myself and my coach?
Am I ready to not be a victim of my circumstances, but to create my own circumstances?
Am I willing to be courageous enough to face my inner truths?
Am I willing to face fears and move forward anyway?
If you answered yes to these questions...you are ready to “go for it!”
The Designed Alliance
This alliance is a unique relationship where the coach and client work as a cohesive, equal unit to the benefit of the client. It also addresses the inner workings of the coaching relationship and how “it will work”. Some of the topics addressed during alliance designing include:
Setting goals - Life coaching is result oriented. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an accountability system that will work for both client and coach. Sessions are the foundation and pushing off point for the client to go out and take massive action. Therefore most of "the work" actually takes place between sessions.
Scheduling - Sessions are conducted via phone to accommodate your busy schedule and for added comfort, flexibility, and convenience. Sessions are typically 30-45 minutes in length but can be adjusted if a different scenario is more helpful. Due to the nature of behavior change it is recommended, but not required, that a client make at least a three month minimum commitment to coaching.
Pricing & Payment - There is a wide variety of pricing options suitable for any prospective client. Clients pay in full at the beginning of each coaching package. Packages can be purchased on a per month basis or as a set of sessions. Clients most often pay through PayPal but checks are accepted as well.
